Q: What is Javascript and Cookies?
A: JavaScript is THE scripting language of the Web.

JavaScript is used in millions of Web pages to add functionality, validate forms, detect browsers, and much more.
Giveart.net requires Javascript to enabled and cookies accepted in order to function properly.

Cookies are messages that web servers pass to your web browser when you visit Internet sites.
Cookies from giveart do not store any usernames, email addresses, passwords or any private information.
Cookies has to be allowed from Giveart.net as it is required for the basic functionality of the system. If cookies are not allowed from Giveart.net, all important functionalities will not function. Typical examples will be "Make A Donation" or "Select Artwork" or "Create A Gift List" etc.

1. How to enable Javascript in your web browser

If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or 8:

On the top menu, go to Tools and click on Internet Options
Click on the Security tab
Click Internet and then click Custom Level...
Scroll down to Scripting and select the radio button Enable, then click OK
Click OK, then OK again
Restart your browser and browse to http://giveart.net

If you are using Firefox 3.x:

On the top menu, go to Tools and select Options
Click on the Content button
Make sure the "Enable Javascript" check-box is checked.
Click on Advanced button and a new tab will appear.
Make sure "Move or resize existing windows" and "Disable or replace context menus" are checked.
Click OK, then OK again
Restart your browser and browse to http://giveart.net


2. How to enable Cookies in your web browser

If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or 8:

Go to Tools > Internet Options
Under Privacy tab, click Advanced
Ensure that the  check-box for "Override automatic cookie handling", is not checked.
Un-check the check-box if checked and then click OK, click Apply and click OK.

If you are using Firefox 3.x:

On the top menu, go to Tools and select Options
Click on the Privacy button
Under History, notice the Firefox will drop-down, select "Use custom settings for history".
And then make sure the check-boxes for Accept cookies from sites and Accept third-party cookies are all checked.
Then for Keep until, select they expire
Then click OK

Sidenote: If you wish to use Exceptions, please add http://giveart.net under Address and click Allow.
Then click Close and then OK.

3rd-party Internet Security Software

Go to Tools > Internet Options
Under Privacy tab, click Advanced
Check the box for "Override automatic cookie handling", then select "Block" for both First-party Cookies and Third-party Cookies, click OK, click Apply and click OK.

If you are running a 3rd-party Internet Security or Anti-Virus software.
